Architectural Profession

The Professional Affairs Board (PAB) is the professional arm of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA). The PAB is constituted and functions within the terms of the Architects’ Law No. 1 of 1976 and Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (Amendment) Act No. 14 of 1996.


Role

The Professional Affairs Board of Architectural Education (PAB) of the SLIA is the professional arm of the Institute vested with the responsibility of assisting, advising and controlling professional issues and the professional practice procedures, preparation of practice documents, and to advice the Council on all professional matters in relation to the Members and the Practices.

PAB organises and conducts Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs for the benefit the membership.


Sub Committees under PAB

Committee On Practice Related Affairs (CPRA)

CPRA generally advises the PAB on all aspects of professional matters including developing professional guidelines, advising on professional issues and mediating & resolution of professional disputes.


Membership Administration Committee (MAC)

MAC administers the membership by maintaining and updating details of membership and practices. MAC also produces the annual membership and practices directory.


Continuing Professional Development (CPDC)

CPDC organises and conducts continuing professional development program of the SLIA.


Ad-hoc Committees

PAB may also appoints Ad-Hoc committees from time to time advice it on current issues.
